  • Sovnger - Blake, What I like

Forgettable, loud and obnoxious techno noise but with a cool and crazy video shot in the subway system of Paris, France. Featuring a fast moving and insanely fun relay race, the camera has such an incredibly fast framerate that the fluorescent lights can be seen to be flickering, which would otherwise be imperceptible to the naked eye because of their incredibly high frequency. Ridiculously Awesom... Read More
  • Bloc Party - This Modern Love

It was on an October night, in Paris. We went to a pub, made some noise outside with a German band. Kele, Bloc Party's singer, went out. We asked him to sing. He said no. We asked again, he said 'yes but'. Then, we asked again... Here it is, just one song, an old song, played acoustic for the first time. Read More
  • Phoenix - 1901

"We had been playing cat and mouse for months. We attended the same shows in Paris, talked a little, mentioning maybe we could do something together... to then see them leave, become huge, and even more intriguing, elusive. It took eight months for this Take Away Show to happen, for them to be free just one afternoon despite their super busy Hollywoodian schedule. Read More
  • Caribou - Odessa

If Dan Snaith has mastered one aspect of his music career, it's change. Not the remodeling or renovation sort, more the alterations and adaptations with purpose. The steady upward progression in replayability between 2001's glitchy Start Breaking My Heart and 2005's towering Milk of Human Kindness feels like a problem of some sort was solved. Which makes room for the comparative left-turn of Andor... Read More

portishead-dummyPortishead is an English musical group named after a town 8 miles west of Bristol. The band was formed in Bristol in 1991, by Geoff Barrow, Beth Gibbons and Adrian Utley. Glory Box is part of their debut album Dummy (1994). Now considered to be something of a classic, and regarded by many critics as one of the most influential albums of the 1990s, Dummy is arguably darker in tone than much of the music it later inspired.

Glory Box appears on the soundtrack to the Bernardo Bertolucci film Stealing Beauty and on the Andrew Niccol film Lord of War.

Zero 7 - Destiny (Photek's Mix)
(5 votes, average 4.40 out of 5)

zero-7-simple-thingsDestiny features the vocals of Sia Furler, the acoustic guitar and background melody create a dizzyingly dreamy atmosphere which is a work of art. Small wonder then at one point, every single holiday guide program on tv was guaranteed to feature an instrumental snippet of "Destiny" with a shot of an exotic beach somewhere in the world... Sia has a very distinctive voice which you are going to find interesting or just annoying. The chorus contains the nicely written lyrics "When I'm weak I draw strength from you, and when you're lost I know how to change your mood, and when I'm down you breathe life over me, even though we're miles apart we are each other's destiny".

Amour, Imagination, ReveAIR is a French music duo formed in 1995, consisting of Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel. The name AIR is a acronym for Amour, Imagination, Rêve which translates to Love, Imagination, Dream.

AIR's music is often referred to as electronica; their form of electronic music was influenced by the synthesizer sounds of the 1970s such as Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, and Francis Lai. Other influences include: psychedelic rock pioneers Pink Floyd; kraut-rockers Tangerine Dream; Jean-Jacques Perrey (although there are some echoes of dance music styles in the production); and French crooner Serge Gainsbourg.

Air - Suicide UndergroundEveryone dated the demise of our neighborhood from the suicides of the Lisbon girls.
People saw their clairvoyance in the wiped-out elms and harsh sunlight.
Some thought the torture tearing the Lisbon girls pointed to a simple refusal to accept the world as it was handed down to them:

So full of flaws.
But the only thing we are certain of after all these years is the insufficiency of explenation.

"Obviously doctor, you've never been a thirteen year-old girl."
