tricarThe three finalists for the World Green Car of the Year have been announced. The Honda FCX Clarity, the Mitsubishi iMiEV and the Toyota iQ were picked as the top contenders. The choices show that advancements have been made since last year when the winner was the BMW 118d, a 60 mpg diesel engine car.

oscar-1Attendees at the 81st Annual Academy Awards were treated to a spectacular yet intimate set design created by architect David Rockwell featuring an awe inspiring three-ton, 60-foot tall custom designed Swarovski crystal curtain sparkling with over 100,000 crystals flown in especially from Austria. The dazzling curtain which creates a sparkling rainbow illuminating the grand arch of the Kodak Theatre helped redefine this year's Oscar experience with more of an elegant party feel.

Based on the 10 teams’ spending last season of $3 billion (£2 billion), it should see more than $1 billion lopped off the collective bill at a stroke.

endofrain1The Irish leprechaun's secret hiding place for his pot of gold is usually said to be at the end of the rainbow, but in this instance someone else got there before me (sigh). The truth is the end of a rainbow is impossible to reach as it's an optical effect that depends on the location of the viewer. When walking towards a rainbow, it will invariably move further away, that makes this image all the more special (happy smile).

sl600-swarowski7Found just outside of a Moscow Millionaires club, only for the oligarchs or princes to an oil rich kingdom. I'm sure you would need special permission and/or permits for driving it as it's already a head-turner without the crystals. However, with or without crystals I still want this car...
